Every platform has rules. Some are sensible, some are arbitrary. We enforce them so you don’t get banned.
Validation 101
- Aspect Ratio:
width / height.
- Bitrate:
(fileSize * 8) / videoLength.
- Errors: If you break a rule, we return a standardized error:

Instagram
Reels (The Golden Child)
- Aspect Ratio: 9:16 (0.56) is mandatory. Don’t upload landscape.
- Duration: 3s - 15min.
- Size: Max 1GB.
- Format: MP4 only.
Stories
- Duration: Max 60s.
- Aspect Ratio: 9:16 recommended.
Posts
- Images: 4:5 (Portrait) or 1:1 (Square). Max 8MB.
- Videos: Max 10 mins.
Gotcha: Instagram is SUPER strict on aspect ratios. If your pixel math is off by even a tiny bit, they might reject it.
TikTok
Videos
- Duration: Max 10 mins (600s).
- Size: Max 4GB.
- Resolution: Min 360p.
- Privacy: If you set it to
SELF_ONLY, you won’t get a share link.
Images (Photo Mode)
- Count: 1-35 images.
- Format: JPG and JPEG only. TikTok does not accept PNG or other image formats.
- Music: You can’t pick specific tracks via API easily. We have an
autoAddMusic flag if you feel lucky.
YouTube
Shorts
- Duration: Max 60s.
- Ratio: Square (1:1) or Vertical (9:16).
- Logic: If it fits these rules, YouTube automatically makes it a Short.
- Size: Max 256GB (Yes, really).
- Duration: Max 12 hours.
LinkedIn
Video
- Size: Max 200MB (via API).
- Duration: 3s - 30min.
Document (PDF)
- Size: Max 100MB.
- Pages: Max 300.
- Format: PDF only.
Video
- Size: 512MB.
- Duration:
- Free/Basic: 140s.
- Premium: 10 mins.
- Premium+: 2 hours (supposedly, but API varies).
Images
- Count: Max 4 per tweet.
- Size: Max 5MB.
Facebook
Reels
- Duration: 3s - 60s.
- Ratio: 9:16.
Page Posts
- Images: Max 4MB.
- Videos: Max 4GB.
Pinterest
Pins
- Images: Max 20MB.
- Videos: Max 2GB. 15 mins max.
- Board ID: Required. You can’t pin to thin air.
The “Other Guys”
Reddit
- Video: Max 1GB. 15 mins max.
- Galleries: Allowed on some subreddits.
- Flair: Required if the subreddit demands it.
Threads
- Video: Max 5 mins.
- Images: Max 10 items.
- Text: 500 chars.
Mastodon
- Video: Max 99MB.
- Text: Instance dependent (usually 500 chars).
